How wonderful that you have chosen Indonesia as your holiday destination!

Indonesia has so much to offer, from stunning nature and rich culture to idyllic beaches, thrilling adventures, and so much more. Since 2013, Joyce has been living in Karimunjawa (Java) and, together with her Indonesian husband, Sudar, has built Hotel & Restaurant The Happinezz Hills.

Due to the high interest from hotel guests, friends, and family who wanted help organizing not only their trip to Karimunjawa but also their entire journey through Indonesia, they began creating fully personalized itineraries throughout the country. With their own travel experience, cooperation with trusted local partners, and attention to detail, they arrange accommodations, transportation, and tours, ensuring a professional, well-organized, and worry-free journey.

They strive to work as much as possible with eco-friendly initiatives and are committed to responsible tourism. They also donate a part of their income to Kejora Karimunjawa, a foundation dedicated to educational projects for both children and adults in Karimunjawa. Joyce and Sudar are co-founders of this foundation.

Meru Betiri National Park
22-01-2026 - 24-01-2026

Meru Betiri National Park is a large and diverse protected area. It covers a mix of coastal plains, dense rainforests, hills, and highlands, rising to almost 1,200 meters above sea level. The park is famous for its rich biodiversity and unique ecosystems. It supports a wide range of flora and fauna, including lowland tropical rainforests, mangroves, swamp forests, and coastal vegetation. Many rare and exotic plant species can be found here. Meru Betiri is also home to a remarkable variety of wildlife. The forests shelter many protected species, including the Javan leopard, banteng (wild cattle), long-tailed macaques, and numerous bird species. One of the park’s most special features is its coastline along the southern Indian Ocean, where several beaches provide important nesting grounds for endangered sea turtles such as leatherback, green, hawksbill, and olive ridley turtles. The park also boasts beautiful beaches such as Rajegwesi Beach, Bandealit Beach, and the stunning Teluk Hijau (Green Bay), known for its clear blue-green waters.

Witness sea turtles nesting
-
Private | 2 hours
Day23 | 23-01-2026

At 20:00, you will leave for a walk along the beach, where you’ll have the opportunity to witness sea turtles to lay their eggs in the sand. The Sukamade Turtle Conservation Program is one of the most important sea turtle protection initiatives in Indonesia. The program focuses on safeguarding endangered sea turtles. When female turtles come ashore at night to lay their eggs, trained local rangers carefully monitor the nesting process. In some cases, the eggs are collected and moved to a protected nursery to increase their chances of survival, as natural nests are vulnerable to predators, human disturbance, and environmental hazards such as erosion. The eggs are incubated in the nursery for several weeks under controlled conditions. Once the hatchlings emerge, they are safely released into the ocean, helping to boost the population of endangered turtles. These turtles face numerous threats in the wild, including poaching, fishing nets, and habitat loss.

Day24 | 24-01-2026

At 06:00, you will have a unique opportunity to release baby sea turtles into the ocean at Sukamade Beach. During your visit, trained local rangers will guide you through the process. The baby turtles, or hatchlings, have spent several weeks incubating safely in the protected nursery, where they were carefully monitored to ensure the highest chance of survival. Now it is time for them to begin their journey in the ocean. You will have the chance to gently pick up the hatchlings and place them at the water’s edge, observing as they instinctively make their way into the sea. This is a critical moment in the turtles’ life cycle, as their early journey in the wild is filled with challenges and dangers. By helping them safely reach the water, you are actively contributing to their survival and supporting the conservation efforts of the program.
