The blue fire at Kawah Ijen is caused by sulfur gas escaping from the volcano, which ignites spontaneously when it comes into contact with the air. Please note that seeing the blue fire cannot be guaranteed, as its visibility depends on weather conditions, volcanic gas activity, and darkness. Besides the blue fire you can also admire the turquoise crater lake. Afterward, you will climb back up about 1 kilometer, enjoying stunning views as the sun rises over the landscape.
